Mission scripture

"Yea, I know that I am nothing; as to my strength I am weak; therefore I will not boast of myself, but I will boast of my God, for in his strength I can do all things; yea, behold, many mighty miracles we have wrought in this land, for which we will praise his name forever." Alma 26:12

6 MONTHS LEFT!!!!!!!!!!

HI.

So....I got 6 MONTHS LEFT!!!!!!!! OhmyLanta! ...oh my starzofliza...get that movie ;)

WWHERE DID TIME GO!?!!! Seriously. So fast. Don't worry, I burnt a shirt for my year mark ;) it was great! Haha and sister Hamblin celebrated her 1 month mark hahaha poor child...she gots some ways to go :p

Soooo...I just love my mission! Yeah. Seriously! So for some reason I have been so excited for the mission this past week. Our mission goal is 820 baptisms this year, never been met before and we are ahead of past years but 6% behind. We are going to reach that goal before November 12th. ITS HAPPENING!!!!!!!!!! I'm not leaving my mission till its met and I'm leaving then...God and I are pretty tight, its gona happen! I just know it! :)

Well...this week was pretty amazing! So for starters, my companion...shes a character.... Its like mother-like-daughter....she's obtaining some characteristics of mine.
1. burping...shes worse though :p
2. she creepily gives me the weirdest faces in the world....
Have I got some great things I'm giving to her ;)

We had the fun opportunity to help out at a senior center this week and played bingo with them....man o man are they feisty!!! It's real biz with them! But it was the funnest thing in the world, gotta love them teethless peeps! :)

2 great lessons this week:

1. We met with Kayla this week, Karina was suppose to be there but wasn't...so we had this time to get Kayla!! God provides :) AND we got her!!! Well, kinda...so she knows Joseph Smith is a prophet...like she felt someone by her side when she received her answer, crazy huh? but she isnt connecting dots!!! Maddening! But we pointed it out to her, talking about why God would want her to know that he was a prophet, had her read the last paragraph of the into in the BOM, and she smiled but tried holding it back, then we had her say it back to us and she didn't want to!!! She kept telling us "your trying to trick me into saying it!!!!" YOU KNOW IT GOSH DARN IT!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!! Ahhh!!!! Little turddd!!!! Still not convinced though...I don't like agency. End of that. Period.
2. The Medfords! So we went in prepared to teach Plan of Salvation but talked about the book of Mormon the whole time. Don't worry, Mike just said he's received so much revelation in the past week than in his whole life. What the!!? So awesome!!! He started crying and saying how he can see how much his family needs this in his life. He feels like he's held Debbie and Mikayla back cuz everytime theyd try to find a church Debbie was like " you haven't tried the Mormon church... " and they never did. Till now! What a great and exciting time for them now! It's so amazing!! :) I love being a missionary.

As I hit my year mark this week, I really started reflecting on how much I've grown...both physically and spiritually. First off, I no longer look 14 anymore....stepped up to 15 ;p haha but spiritually, I don't know how I could have survived without going on a mission. My testimony's got a long ways to go, but its pretty high compared to before I came. I use to think that a mission is not for everyone. This statement is a lie. It's for everyone! GO ON A MISSION PEOPLE!!

One funny thing. So

OH MY GOSH!!! forgot this!!!! I ATE SALMON THIS WEEK!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!! Don't worry, every prayer that day before dinner I asked for help in getting it down my throat...I was that scared! Well. Prayers are answered. I got it down! YAY!!!!!!!!! But it doesn't mean that i'm down to eat it again. just sayin! Sorry that was a little 'SQUIRREL' moment there...

Anyways, so we had dinner with the Malmbergs this week, they fed us the fish, and they have a son that's getting ready to graduate and go to BYU and he was complaining to his parents about his car. This is how the conversation went:
Sis Malmberg: your car is normal looking!
Scott: Mom...the only people that drive that car are either ghetto or old
Sis Hamblin: ....so which one are you?

Got  him there! ;) haha it was hilarious!!!

ok so for Mothers day! Happy Mothers day mom!! :) And i'll be calling....4 my time! 2 your time? Sorry that's early but THE WHOLE FAMILY BEST BE THERE!!!!!!!!!!!!! Larissa and Cara im including you too!!!!!!!!!!! ;) My last time calling home...this is just weird! :p Really quick...so right now I was trying to figure out the time difference btn here and AZ...so theres all these elders across from us and I lean to one and was like:
"so this is totally farfetched, but do you know what time AZ is?"
"yeah, im from there"
"what?? Me too!! What part??"
"Gilbert"
"WHAT?!! ME TOO!!!"
"Where at??"
"off Power and Ray"
"WHAT?! Im off Power and Williams field!"
Dude..this guy's in Gateway ward! Right across from us! Don't worry, were like neighbors! What are the odds?! SO weird!! Anyways, fun fact!
