Soooo... first off, Happy Fathers day to daddy and all my brothers! :) y'all are awesome! Especially dad :) but as well to all!
And Happy Birthday Josh and Jasmine! Today!!!! Ahh...Josh your getting old ;) and Jasmine your 21!!!!!!!!!!!!!! Not everyday does my niece turn 21 ;p soooo crazy!!!
So this week was so awesome!!! And went by suppererrrrr dooooopererrrr fast!!! Like insanely fast!
So funny things:
Sister Hamblin had a lot of them haha...really! So we went to a members house and we talked to the dad that isn't a member, had a great convo with him and he gave us a cup of water to go...so as we were leaving sister H is taking a drink and is walking, fails to see the step, and her water splashes her in the face!!! It was the most funniest thing in the world! All over that girl, I tell ya! Theres a reason we don't participate in water sports on our mission ;p haha
THEN! So! On Monday we went to the Horns (members) house to have dinner with the Medfords, and it was great! The Medfords had a blast and we also got to hypnotize a chicken again...soops fun! Heres where the funny thing comes in. So we sit down to do our lesson with them and we finished the Plan of Salvation and cleared up Mikes concerns btw's about the priesthood, the Horns def helped with that (this is why members are soooo important!) and then went into the gospel of Jesus Christ. Well we had sister H start it and she starts talking about faith and she looks at her little lesson plan card and accidentally looks at the wrong scripture so she tells them to turn to this scripture and at first I was like 'wait what?' but I just decided to go along with it, didn't know if it was a prompting, but she goes to this scripture and starts reading it, instantaneously realizes that this was definitely the wrong scripture, I was trying sooooooooooooooooooooooooooooo oooooooooooooooooo stinkin hard not to laugh cuz it was about the resurrection and having nothing to do with faith. But she's trying so hard not to ruin it so she starts talking about how we have to have faith in the resurrection....after we left I just died!!! She was so mad at herself!!! She was like "HOW STUPID AM I??? I totally failed that by far!!!" Oh my gosh........that was THE highlight of my week! But its a good thing that the Medfords are learning so they probably didn't recognize...but it was a great moment to break it and know that we are human and we do mess up! :p It was just hilarious!
We also went to the medfords to teach Mikayla cuz she's going to be at a 2 week camp, but they have goats and sister H is totally obsessed with them!! So they took us out fo rher to pet them...and she was like running to pet them and was pretty much chasing them saying "I wana pet you!!" ....I swear...sights to be seen, a sister missionary running after a goat...
But the lesson with Mikayla was really good! So funny thing on that too! So we taught the rest of the Gospel of Jesus Christ and also taught her the word of wisdom and the Law of chastity...oh my gosh! funniest thing! So! We asked her If she knew what the law of chastity was, shes 12, and she said no. So we told her to read a paragraph out loud in the pamphlet and she starts:
"physical intimacy............... EWWWWWWWWWWWWWWWWWWWWWWWWW!!!! !!!!! OK OK I"LL LIVE IT!!!! JUST DONT MAKE ME READ IT!!!!" ....I love 12 year olds... hahahaha it was hilarious!!!! She did NOT want to talk about it!!! It was the funniest thing ever! Then last night we went over to teach Mike and Mikayla had given him her pamphlet cuz she didn't want it :p The Law of Chastity is such a good one...kids crack me up! ;p
Ok so we have a new investigator, shes awesome! So her names Jackie and she actually messaged a members daughter who lives in Utah but was in town for a couple days, and asked if there was a way she could meet with the missionaries...:D So! We met with her! She has a boyfriend whos an RM and shes getting more serious with him but he wont marry anyone unless its in the temple so she wanted to see if this was something that she wanted and to do it on her own. So we met with her 3 times this week and she is amazing!!! She loves it all and it makes so much sense to her. She said that every church she goes to always said there was a heaven and a hell and that was it, but she didn't feel that it was right, but theyd just tell her "well that's what the bible says." But she loved the Plan of Salvation because it showed to her that it really is something more! And she had no clue that we lived with our Heavenly Father before....I cant imagine my life nnot knowing that! It makes us see our purpose! I'm so thankful that this gospel really brings us that knowledge, knowing that we aren't lost and just tiny little specks living for no darn reason. IT JUST MAKES SENSE! :)
But the bom thing this week was that we just taught so much! So many members, and they are setting goals for them to work on missionary work, they are seeing results as well. GOALS ARE SO IMPORTANT!!!!!!!!!!!! Set Goals People!!! For everything!!! Elder Ballard said that we will never reach our greatest potential if we don't set goals. Do it! I have seen miracles this week where if I didn't set that goal, it wouldn't have happened! And we taught so many lessons with investigators! Eiji Davis is getting baptized June 28th, who he actually just got married to a member who was less active when I was in Denton...and now they live here and WOW! Miracles happen! :) For the past 8 months Elders have been teaching him and pushing him for baptism...the first time he meets with sisters, he figures it out, and sets a date....theres something about Sister's man ;) sorry Elders! haha jk! Its all the Lord! :) The Medfords are still going hard for July 5th. Awesome! :) And Jackie has accepted baptism...just trying to figure out when its best for her! Miracles are happening. And it's all based on our faithfulness and putting in our all. God is great! :)
I LOVE MY MISSION!
GO teach your friends! :)
Love yall
