Hello everyone!!
So this week was really fun and had some great memories made...
first off, its always weird finding out about things that are happening at home and weird stuff like that. So many people I know are getting married!!! The world is going to be sooo different when I get back to AZ...everyones growing up! Its so weird that people up here know my friends down here! Ahh! Oh and GET THIS!!! So TANYA! Theres these people in our ward, the Elmers, who was a mission president in Australia in I think '01-'03 and when I first met him he said my name sounded familiar...then when I found out he was a mission president in Australia I told him my sister served there...he then was like "That's it! I think she was a legend there!" Soo....you at least in '03 were a popular missionary. Props to you! So cool!
Anywho, this week was great! We FINALLY got some service goin on! SWEET!!! :D So real quick, had an awesome/scary(in the eyes of me) moment. So we were giving a family a spiritual thought on missionary work and asked who they were working with. They exclaimed that they didn't really know of anyone so we told them to meet their neighbors and these were the words that came out of my mouth... "and I promise...there will be someone prepared" SAY WHAT SISTER TILTON??!! I thought I was going to poop bricks! I just promised this family that they would find someone. Ahh! Lets hope they do! Cuz that was definitely not me that said that! Spirit led. But they had us come over to lay mulch in their flower bed and rake leaves. TOTALLY reminded me of childhood memories! Its fine, we totally jumped in al the leaf piles. Greatest ever! :) and SOO fun! I love service!
We also went on exchanges with our sister training leaders, and I went to Southlake with Sister Rhoades for a day. Don't worry, they live in a mansion and has the greatest living life! Its huge! But we did service alllll day! It was the first time ever I have been in jeans for more than 8 hours in 11 months. CRAZY!!! I loved it! I love doing service though, people just need to let us do it!
So this week we taught these recent converts who are going in to the YSA ward but finishing up their callings in our ward...love YSA!! :) But this poor girl Chelsea, bless her dear heart, youtubed videos on Mormon slang so she knew what people were talking about. HOW HILARIOUS!!! And sad haha poor thing! She was like "do you really say 'are you murmuring?' to people?" So funny!! I almost died! Who says that?! Made my week! I love converts :)
Im getting better with the members...still feel like I don't know any of them! Don't worry, I had a kid ask me if I was this little girls mom. Haha! and then a guy told me I looked too young to be doing this stuff...gosh people! We did have this guy come to church that we met at the library!! But he's YSA so were giving him to the elders in the YSA ward here...so sad! But he's super awesome! He loved church and was fellowshipped pretty well...that's one thing that's totally different than YSA peeps, adults actually come and talk to people! Love that!
Sister Tuck is getting better at reaching my loudness level...but not quite there yet... She's trying to get me to teach her how to talk black....you should hear her! It's quite the entertainment! She's hilarious! Oh and another thing! Our poor dog Zina is ready to see God again...she is totally blind now and walks straight into things! Its soooo sad!! The Todds have been out of town(people we live with) so weve been praying she doesn't die on us. Although she needs to..
Man this was totally a random email. But hope it all made sense and didn't do any repeats...I have short term memory loss.. seriously!
Have a great week!
Sister Tilton
