Mission scripture

"Yea, I know that I am nothing; as to my strength I am weak; therefore I will not boast of myself, but I will boast of my God, for in his strength I can do all things; yea, behold, many mighty miracles we have wrought in this land, for which we will praise his name forever." Alma 26:12

Transfers....last transfer :(

Sooo....this is my last transfer!!!! OH MY GOSH!!!!!! This is so weird!!! And I'm being transferred!!!!
950 W Thompson #120
Decatur, TX 76234
But I will be staying in Decatur with Sister Bangs :p we're just moving to an apartment closer in town for more miles! It's great!! :) We'll be moving on Friday...just found this out. AND we're getting a new truck since ours has reached its limit! So this will be a crazy week! The Lord will help me out this transfer!!!

Funny moment last week. Actually HILARIOUS! Actually really messed up too! One of the elders, my District Leader, who is coming home in my group, just found out that he has a baby brother, 17 months old...and his family just didn't tell him. Now how messed up is that?!!!!!!? Haha he was soooo mad! It was pretty hilarious though! Y'all better not be hiding any of that from me!! Oh the life of a missionary :p

Also, we went to pday activity this week in Denton....I just love missionaries!!! It's so nice to be around them!! #decaturislonelybeyondimaginationonpdays. And we played soccor!!!! Don't worry, it was an epic fail at first...but I got better! And its fine, the next 3 days I COULD NOT WALK!!!! I was sooooo sore! I literally worked out every muscle in my body....I looked like a crippled old woman!

So we had a great week and had many miracles happen, not exactly to us, but we have seen the miracles happen through us. It's crazy to see how much God really does work through us to bring about His great and eternal purposes. We had a couple of experiences with this. I want to start with this LA Martiz who is in her early 20s with 2 kids and a husband who is not a member of the church. She attends church a couple times a month but never brings her kids. We went over to her house this week to visit and planned to share about the gospel of Jesus Christ blessing families on earth and throughout eternity. As we were talking about this we focused on her being that example to the family and she broke down crying. After a few minutes she calmed down and told us that a few months ago she prayed to God for Him to show her a sign whether or not the church was true. A few days later the missionaries showed up on her doorstep. A couple weeks ago she was struggling to know what to do concerning the fact that her husband isn't a member and she wants to be sealed to him and her daughters but didn't know what to do. Then we showed up. What a testimony builder of God hearing and answering prayers! It was amazing! We helped her set goals with her being a better example to her family and she committed to start having family prayer and attending church every week with her kids. She didn't bring her kids to church yesterday, but we are hoping she will next week. It was a definite neat experience for me to see her receive that full knowledge that God wants her to step up. I love missionary work!! :)

Next we had Charlie. On Monday he called us drunk and told us he didn't want us to come back. So we waited a few days without contact then went back and he was on his first 24 sobriety. He was shaking already, but was so ready to be done with it! Well the next day we went and did service with him at a museum, then went back to his house for a lesson and saw some people moving in so we went and helped, then had a great lesson with him on 2 Nephi 9 and being prepared for when we return to God's presence. The next day we went by and he told us all about his day the day before that his daughter who was mad at him for going to the Mormon church called him and apologized (it broke his heart before because he and his daughter were so close) and he had a wonderful talk with her. He then started telling everyone that day that he was Mormon and proud of it! He could see the difference it made when he was applying the gospel, giving service, being selfless, keeping the Word of Wisdom, and studying the scriptures. It all makes sense!! It all works! What a neat experience! He's getting closer!

We met with Miguel this week as well and he is still struggling on what to do with his girlfriends living situation. It's hard to see either a family break physically or a family break spiritually. Either he has to leave his kids as well or have them always witness their parents fighting. It's so sad! And it's hindering his spiritual growth. We are meeting with him this week though and hopefully we can make some goals with him. Include him in y'all prayers as well if you will! :) thanks!

So you can also tell that your in Decatur when your at a potentials house and they boil water with a candlestick for ramen....haha! Ohh my goodness! It makes me really appreciate the things I do have!

We also had a less active family buy us a croc pot when they found out we didn't have one...I feel like im in Arlington again now!!! :D Croc pots=the best!!!

I love my mission, I love the trials (the outcome) and I'm grateful for my Savior, Jesus Christ! He is my all :) Go share the gospel this week! :)

Love y'all!
