Mission scripture

"Yea, I know that I am nothing; as to my strength I am weak; therefore I will not boast of myself, but I will boast of my God, for in his strength I can do all things; yea, behold, many mighty miracles we have wrought in this land, for which we will praise his name forever." Alma 26:12

I'm coming home!

"I'm Coming Home" by Skylar Grey (and if you want upbeat- skylar grey and Diddy) :)

Please look up this song before beginning to read!!!!!!!!!!
Then listen to while reading :)

SERIOUSLY!!! Look it up now!
Or imma be mad!! God is watching...

St. John 5:39
"Search these scriptures; for in them ye think ye have eternal life: and they are they which testify of me."

Acts 20:22-25
"And now, behold, I [went] bound in the spirit unto [Texas], not knowing the things that shall befall me there:
Save that the Holy Ghost witnesseth in every city, saying that bonds and afflictions abide me.
But none of these things move me, neither count I my life dear unto myself, so that I might finish my course with joy, and the ministry, which I have received of the Lord Jesus, to testify the gospel of the grace of God.
And now, behold, I know that [they] all, among whom I have gone preaching the kingdom of God, shall see my face no more."

3 John 1:13-14
"I had many things to write, but I will not with ink and pen write unto thee:
But I trust I shall shortly see thee, and we shall speak face to face. Peace be to thee. Our friends salute thee. Greet the friends by name."

2 Timothy 4:6-8
"I am now ready to be offered, and the time of my departure is at hand.
I have fought a good fight, I have finished my course, I have kept the faith:
Henceforth there is laid up for me a crown of righteousness, which the Lord, the righteous judge, shall give me at that day: and not to me only, but unto all them also that love his appearing."

...peace out! ;)

Hurrah for Israel!!

18 MONTH MARK!

Hey Y'all!

Texas is awesome! I love it! :)

First, Happy Birthday Daddy this week!

Second, IVE BEEN OUT 18 MONTHS!!! What is this world coming to?! Why does time fly by so fast?! Well! I give all my credit to the Billmire family for making my 18 months a blast! So this week I blew up a full on outfit! Yep! BLEW IT UP! Well, Bryce Billmire did! (he was actually in the Denton YSA last year when I was serving so were totally bffs now! :p ) So I have a video...but cant see it cuz I cant send it! But its pretty legit! We gave my outfit some Tanerite and gasoline and a little shot (Bryce shot it, not me) and it exploded! Best thing ever! My clothes = disintegrated! >:D

Next, Happy Halloween! Hope yall liked my card I sent! You wana know something crazy?!

Fact: Only in Texas, Decatur particularly, would they switch Halloween to Oct 30th because Oct 31st is on Friday and we cant ruin Friday night Football. Yes, they SWITCHED Halloween because of Football. Are you fa realz?! Great! So we had to stay with members on the 30th all night (luckly we had an appt so we didn't have to worry about that) and stay inside for the 31st.

Well Nov 1st we had our ward Fall Festival with turkey shoot, food, and trunk or treat! It was so much fun!!! and FREEZING!!! There were so many less actives that came, part member families, investigators, and peoples friends. So much fellowship! It was great! :) We didn't even have to get people fellowship, everyone just talked with everyone. Ward functions should really happen more often :p No we didn't get to shoot but one of the less actives, MaryAnn that we're teaching, came and had never shot clay pigeons, won the womens turkey shoot! It was awesome!!! She had fun, although she got some bruises.

Sister Bangs and I, on Halloween, were each other, but at the Fall Festival we were twins, both me! :p haha it was hilarious! People would call her Sister Tilton then think...wait, that's not it! Trunk or Treat was so fun! The kids just loved us! And that's probably cuz we were the only truck that actually decorated...no one else did! But it was so much fun! :) I really just love this ward! They are so close knit and its a whole county! How crazy! Such a huge range but so close together! :)

Alright, so this is the greatest thing that happened to me all week. Did you know Jesus Christ is on the earth right now?! YEAH! He's reincarnated, living in Bowie, TX (our area), is a cowboy, and 25 years old right now. But its fine, he doesn't know that he's Christ yet, but apparently his dad does. Awesome right?!! So we met the CRAZIEST person in the whole entire universe. No joke. He has read the Book of Mormon a million times, D&C, and the Bible all to get secret codes for when the Second Coming is. He has met Christ... i don't think reincarnation was ever talked about in the Bible... :p and he knows the date when Christ will start burning the wicked but he said he wouldn't tell us. Its all going to start in 2017 though. Let's get ready yall! ;p So he was telling us to prepare and was even telling us that we need to start getting food storage....well he obviously doesn't know that that's something we as members already have been doing. Like seriously, he was a crazy man!! He's said his 100 prayers and doesn't think he needs to talk to God anymore....I feel sorry for this man. I think it was the most oddest thing I have EveR encountered. #welcometodecatur

Moving on, :p So Marilyn has been keeping herself busy and is cutting down for sure on her smoking which is great! She is seeing the Atonement work in her life. It's great! She went to the Fall Festival, her and her daughter Ashton, and they both enjoyed it although they froze to death :p

Miguel we were finally able to meet this week, twice! And he is still at the same place he was last time, really busy, but still wanting to be baptized even though he knows he has to get married or move out, he's just trying to figure out how and what to do. Family is so important to him but is struggling to see how to make it work with this. We taught him the WOW after church on Sunday and he kind of freaked - he likes his coffee - but isn't 'addicted' to it, just likes it with his doughnuts :p great excuse right?! Good one Miguel! :p He is so funny!

Charlie is still pressing forward, he keeps slipping but only with one beer or so. Then he's back on track...till his darn friends come over the next night. He just has to move!!

We met with Peter this week and oh my goodness, he is on the wrong track on why he's reading the BOM or studying...he's looking for historical points and critiques peoples writings. We gave him the talk "Blueprints of Christ's Church" and he read it and TOTALLY was pointing out things that he didn't explain correctly (He's an architecture). He said he would like to email "Mr. Callister." Really Peter?! Hahaha! Whhaaaaat?? He is too much of a perfectionist in this. We're trying to help him understand that its not about how great of an education our prophets and apostles have, but how it can help him spiritually come closer to our Heavenly Father. We challenged him to study in that way, so lets hope he does it! He's a keeper... :p Also, he told Sister Bangs that she should become a preacher and make her own church...that was hilarious!

Well that's it for the most part! Have a great week! :)

Im running out of Subjects....

Hello everyone!!

So....Larissa's home. Thanks yall for rubbing it in my face!!!!!!!!!!!!

OH my goodness its almost Halloween....not that it matters to us :p

So you know you've been in Texas too long when your reading the Book of Mormon and read "you shall... " as "y'all shall..."  . . . . . . . wow I'm retarded! Who does that? Pretty sure not even Texans do that...or do they....

This week went by a little slower...I wonder why *cough Larissa cough* cuz I knew she was home! Awful, I know! But we still got a lot done! :) First off, I am doing great! I am almost done with Doctrine and Covenants and am rereading the Book of Mormon again. I mentioned that President Ames challenged us to read the BOM in 2 months before Elder Cardon came. Well one thing that he also told us and that is soooooo true is that without the Book of Mormon, and prayer, we suffocate spiritually. After I was done reading the Book of Mormon from the challenge he gave us, a couple days later I was just like "ok, now what?" I felt a little empty not studying it. Weird that that happened. So I started again!! And its AWESOME!! :)

Something that is also increasing, besides my testimony, is this sista! It seems like everyone just wants to feed us fast food now!!!!!!!!!!!!!!! WHATTTT THE HECKkkkkKKKK!!!!!!!!!!!! Im suppose to be on my 6 month sexy right now and boy it aint working!!!

This week we had awesome opportunities to teach new people. We had a potential that when we went to her house she told us that she found her Bible, pulled it out to show us, and as I was looking at it I saw the word "Stake Center" written on it.... say what? So I look closer and it was from our church!!!!! Donna (the potential) had gotten in about 5 years ago at a book store and had never looked at that. Well she was astonished! so were we, trust me! She was soo amazed and kept saying "I don't think this is a coincidence!" Nope, Donna, it isn't!!! Well lets just say, she's fixin' to become a Mormon ;) The only thing is that she is a home nurse 7 days a week and takes care of this old lady every day from 8-12pm so we have no clue how she's going to be able to come to church...but she said she'd try to figure something out. So I'm hoping God helps her with this!

Virginia is my other favorite part about this. So actually Donna takes care of Virginia nights as well. But we were at Virginia's house this week and talking about Donna's Bible we also started talking about Joseph Smith as well. Virginia is totally a basher when it comes to that but Donna was saying that she believed it was true and Virginia was like "YOU BELIEVE IT??" Donna: "yeah I believe it!" Virginia: "Well I think....im gona bite you!" Hahaha what?? It was the most randomest thing ever! Gosh I just love that lady!! :)

Next we were able to have a great week with Charlie! We read "Blueprints of Christ's Church" by Elder Callister and he loved it! Ok. Y'all need to read that cuz it is Ah-Mazing!!!! It helped him understand so much better the reason there should only be ONE true church and what "true" meant. He's been better with not drinking but still is falling every now and then. Don't worry, God's got this!

Chuck is back to "needing more time" because he see's it as a big struggle to quit coffee but his sister Jessie said she'd work on it with him this week. Come ON CHUCK!!!! I told him that he's getting baptized before I leave and told him im leaving nov 12th so he best be baptized by then! :p Hopefully that helped? haha

We also met with Marilyn as well (LA) and it was such a great lesson we had. A couple weeks ago we were impressed to teach her the Word of Wisdom but were unable to get to it because she had other needs and questions. Well we taught it to her last night and she started telling us of some things that she was struggling with that we didn't even know would be a concern. She has been smoking since she was 14 and can NOT seem to stop, no matter how hard she tries. Well something that I learned from President Sagers was I asked her to grab her cigarette pack and I grabbed a picture of Jesus Christ and put them side by side and she couldn't look! I asked her what she loved more. She has such a big desire to quit and that seemed to hit her hard. The Spirit was strong and she could feel it for sure!! LOVE THE SPIRIT!!!!!! :D So we made a plan with her that when she has the urge to smoke or when she needs to smoke, to first say a prayer and read a chapter out of the Book of Mormon. She agreed! So we're hoping it helps her get rid of the urge and addiction. I know she can do it!!! :) I love this work for sure!

Well that's about it for this week! Hope yall are having the time or yalls life!

Sister Tilton

pics:
my 'not scary jack skelington'
All our pumpkins!! :) its always so nice when our ZLs tell us that we have to wear our pros clothes to pday activity...and then everyone is wearing normal clothes...I was mad! -_-
the most randomest things on my desk: pepper, peanut butter, and hot sauce!
this made me question why Adam partook of the fruit. I could've totally delt without thistles and thorns! Note to all: NEVER walk in Texas grass barefoot....or in sandals!
what happens after church in Decatur? the kids go dumpster diving!
my favorite! Sister Van Wagoner! We had a member family teach us the Gospel of Jesus Christ and we were the investigators. Ally (Sis V) also sat with us and she was acting muslim. Caught her in action! Hahah! It was the funniest thing ever!!!!

LARISSAS GOING HOME!!!!!!!!

the subject just says it.

MY BEST FRIEND IS GOING HOME THIS WEEK!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!! NOo!!!!!!! And that's not funny that y'all are gona see her before me! Jokes on y'all though! She's coming to Texas and staying with me till I go home. >:) Ha! ;p I wish...

Oh where is the time going??

Speaking of time, this week was incredibly great and incredibly full!

First off, we had a SLEEPOVER with our STLs this week! IT WAS A BLAST! :) We did this because Sister Meinors is going home with me and we were going to the temple together. Here's the reason why - So since the temples going to be closed here for a month because there's a leak, and will be closed when I go home, all of us departing missionaries went this week to the temple with President and Sister Ames. OH MY GOSH!!! I just love the temple!!! We were there all day and had the greatest spiritual day in the whole entire world! We did all of the above that we can do in the temple. We even did sealings as a child, which was my first time and it was so cool! Don't worry, Pres. Ames had us watch a couples sealing and told us to prepare for this cuz it's going to happen. No pressure. Thanks President Ames.... that is just too weird. I'm still a child! And imma stayyyin' one! Oh it was just amazing! It felt like I was actually going home :(

Then to add on to the wonderful week we had Elder Cardon from the 70 come and speak with our mission and even had a fireside for all our investigators, less actives, and recent converts to come. We had Charlie and Chuck come and it was amazing!!!! I'll say more in a minute about that! When we had the whole conference with all the missionaries it was nice to see them all for the last time! The conference was SOOOO INCREDIBLY POWERFUL!!!! The Spirit was so strong and I learned so much from him! Hey guess what?? They're from Gilbert AZ and guess what??? Sister Cardon knows you mom!!!! Whats new though right?! President Ames combined with Elder Cardon = best day ever! At the close of the conference, President Ames bore what I think was the most powerful thing ever, words cant even describe. I started bawling! That was the moment it hit me that I was actually going home and that I wouldn't have President Ames with me anymore. He is the closest thing to the prophet. No questions asked. I am really going to miss my mission so much! Despite all the challenges I'm facing right now with just everything, I would not trade this time for anything!

I am so so so happy that I have this opportunity to serve the Lord and the people in Texas. As my time is coming to a soon end, I keep reflecting on my life as a missionary and really seeing and pointing out where I have grown and where I still need improvement. I do know that I am not perfect whatsoever, but I am trying to get to that point one day.

For being a busy week with going to the temple, having conferences, firesides, planning, etc. it has been such a busy week! We were able to visit so many people and see them progressing. We have a less active part member family that we had dinner with last week and the wife(member) went to Enrichment night for the first time and her and her husband and daughter(not members) came to sacrament. Whoa!!! So cool!

Charlie, 5 out of 7 days this week, has been sober. YEAH!!! And he's been taking everything in! Last night he did have his friends get ahold of him after church and he ended up drinking and tried dropping us again...it just amazes me every time. You think I'd be use to it by now, but how much alcohol changes you COMPLETELY!! Its soooo annoying!

Chuck is sooooooooooooooooooooooooooooooooooooo ready to be baptized!! When we went to his house this week we sat down and he just started talking. He was like "So I watched General Conference and I liked it very much. The prophet's talk was my favorite, he did a really good job! And I just need to quit coffee and I'll be ready." ...."uhh...for baptism?" "yeah!" WHAT? Ok shocker!! It was crazy!!! And AMAZING! He we told him that we were excited for him and he thinks he'll be done with coffee by November. So I'm hoping so much that he gets baptized before I go home! So exciting! So back to what I was saying earlier, he and Charlie both went to the fireside and they both loved it! It definitely made a great impact on them and they could recognize the Spirit completely. Great things are happening! And I'm so glad! :)

This week we also were given Coor's Light cups for free... "compliments from the restaurant" ...does it look like we drink??! :p it was hilarious! We were with some members which Gentry (in the pic) lived in Thatcher and went to school with Miranda! Weird! I even met her before the mission haha small world! :p

Anyways, love yall! Have a great week! LARISSA YOU BETTER WRITE ME A MILLION TIMES!!!!

MEET THIS MORMON!

Hey ya guys!

Happy Birthday Bryson!!! :)

What a wonderful week we were able to have!

Did y'all watch Meet the Mormons??? cuz WE DID!!!!! IT was SOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOO good!!!!!! We got spoiled again and watched it before it came out with our mission! It was the BOM.com! Go watch it if you haven't, and bring ALLLLLLLL your friends!!! It's crazy how much you can feel the spirit in that movie! :) I love being Mormon!!! :) Best. Thing. Ever! We watched it at Zone Conference which was amazing! I just love our mission! I LOVE President and Sister Ames!!! They are the best!

Its starting to feel like fall! Well...kinda...its cold! I got to wear my boots again for the first time in awhile! :) I love this time of year!

Whats also fun is when awkward moments arise in missionary life! So get this. We were going to visit a potential this week and we drove up to their house and their vehicle wasn't there so we were like well shoot! But there was like no parking so we just drove in their parking spot to figure out where were going next. Well as I was looking at the GPS I notice in my rearview mirror that a car just drove up behind me. Don't worry, it was them!!! Can you saw awkward!??? Well. It gets better! Since its a mission rule that I cant back up with out someone backing me, dear Sister Bangs had to get out of the truck and back me up. In front of them! I was laughing sooooo hard!!! Sister Bangs got back to the truck and was like "I hate you!" Hahha we then awkwardly went and talked with them. Gotta love this life! :p

I feel like for all the meetings that went on this week, we had a pretty good one. We were able to teach lots of people, see more less actives that Sister Bangs hadn't met yet...overall a great week! We were able to finally get our apartment organized and looking like a clean apartment and now I can finally focus. It definitely makes a difference of how much better you can feel the Spirit in a clean apartment than when its messy. I started thinking of all the times back home that I wouldn't think much of a messy house...and now I cant stand it! Good thing right?! We were short on a couple things for our apartment that the mission office told us to ask the ward to help out on and they even announced it in sacrament meeting, one thing of which was a trash can. Everyone just started laughing. Wow! Who would've thought that we needed a trash can...

This week, Sister Bangs and I had a good comp inventory. It was nice to get some things figured out - its definitely inspired - and we set some goals on what we can do better with. I am reminded of something that Sister Sylar told me on exchange was that at this time I am here to be a healer. At first I didn't really think much of it but this week I felt that it was true...I hope I'm doing an okay job at it though! But after that, it has been a happier week! :)

Anyways, I feel like we focused more on the less actives this week and am just grateful for those that are really trying to put in the effort to get back to church but still struggling. One less active/part member family we went to for dinner on Sunday night had a whiteboard that said on it "Mormons are coming over tonight" ...I wonder how much that helped them prepare for us to get there haha! Day made right there! :p ohhh man! Funniest thing ever!

We also saw the Shelene this week, LA/PM, she fed us, and Dallas (her husband) was gone at work - he is the one that's FLDS. We started asking her what Dallas' concerns were and she just let it all out! He's in a way brainwashed into what the FLDS do and how what we do (refusing to practice polygamy) is wrong because God willed it so. How do you help him with this?? He believes the Book of Mormon is true, he believes that Joseph Smith is a true prophet....but then the rest is history from Wilford Woodruff and up...we're stumped on what to do!! Gosh...we should just accept polygamy then! it'd be easier for us! ;) haha JK!!!!!! No way!!!

Well that's about it for this week! have a great one this coming! Share the gospel to all the world!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!

Moving time! Conference Time!!! :)

Hey y'all!!

So Happy Birthday to Kylee and Brielle!!!!!!!!!!!!!! My gosh! I cant believe Brie is already one and I HAVENT MET HER YET!!! So crazy! hope the parties were fab!

So my good gosh we had a crazy week!! First, we got a new truck. And can I say it is a beaut! I love trucks! I will one day have one...except it'll be bigger ;) I definitely feel spoiled on the mission. It's sad to think that we had an 'old truck' ...and it was a 2011. That's not old!! Now we have a 2014. God definitely takes care of his servants!

And then we moved. And let me tell you, we did it all!!!! Besides the office elders and Elder and Sister Moss and a couple men in the ward bringing in our beds and desks and kitchen and bathroom supplies. But it's amazing how much stuff missionaries collect and leave at the apartment....especially sisters! We have like 3 huge bags and boxes of clothing...not cute may I add :p It took awhile to pack, clean, and get everything from one apartment to the other with just one truck. It seems like that's all we did this weekend besides watching Conference!!!! Which. *sigh* It was amazing!  I missed doing missionary work though, your day feels so much better than just cleaning and moving. But our apartment is pretty nice, but cluttered at the moment. It's no bueno living in a complex when now I'm used to country roads. I will say, I miss my morning runs of land and longhorns :p #texaslife

Back on Conference! It was AMAZING!!!! I just love hearing the words of our prophet! We went to the Harrison's house for alllllllllll 4 session! And they fed us saturday lunch an dinner and sunday breakfast, lunch, and dinner! Wow they will be blessed! :) They are such an awesome family!!!!!!!! I love them!!! So one thing I thought was interesting is that this conference was more geared to other topics that what we've been having the past couple conferences. They didn't completely focus on missionary work BUT it was still in there! Always :) And priesthood rights and just other things. The main thing I saw and felt was to BUILD OUR FOUNDATIONS! Helaman 5:12 was quoted AT LEAST a billion times :p ok not that much. But still!!!! And they focused on seeking TRUTH! Why do we never think of this before??! Seeking for Truth in ourselves, others, religion, society, EVERYTHING is so much better than looking for fault or wrong. Why do we do this? Because we are naturally human and naturally retarded so we like to look for wrong and fault. Come on people! Why not be positive seekers? It gets us somewhere, it gets us UP! Lynn G. Robbins said: "Never forget which way to look" and that way is to God. Christ = perfect example! He never lost focus of his purpose and his direction. It was ALWAYS to the Father! So lets take this to heart and apply it to our lives, shall we?! Rather than trying to walk where the Savior walked, lets walk AS the Savior walked! :) The gospel is just TRUE! word.

Anyways, we contact a couple referrals this week and it was great! Two are new investigators! One media and one member referral, both big Texas talkers! I wonder if it's this bad everywhere, I've just never noticed it before I came to Texas. But it's a pretty real thing here. People just LOVEEEE to talk! But as we meet with them this week we are hoping for a great Spirit-led lesson. I just love seeing the members be excited about their experiences sharing the gospel. They are filled with such a greater light. :)

We met with Chuck this week as well, he is doing great! He watched General Conference and we are looking forward to hearing his thoughts on it but we talked to him about prophets and he said he believes that Joseph Smith is a prophet and is...pretty close to baptism. We asked him to take the question of baptism in mind as he watched conference so we hope he received an answer.

Charlie was doing good at the beginning of this week but then a couple things happened in his family and people around him so he turned back to the alcohol. So sad! He didn't watch conference either which was even a more bummer BUT we're not losing hope!

Miguel is being worked on hard by Satan. He's always so busy and never texts us back but we did meet with him and talked about enduring and keeping the Sabbath day holy. He committed to keep it holy but didn't watch conference either. What the heck man?! What is causing him to lose sight of something he wants so much for him and his family? It just makes sense to live it. I'm so glad I was raised in the gospel and wish so badly that others could only understand how important it is!!!

We met with MaryAnn(LA) this week and taught her the Restoration and it was a nice refresher for her because she couldn't remember a lot of it. But it all made sense to her and her husband (got married Oct 3) was starting to ask questions about prayer and things...he's seeing it :)

Also met with Sister Powell(LA) and she's doing great! She had a little bit of a meltdown because of some things that are weighing her down but she watched the Saturday morning session and felt great about everything and that everything that was spoken was meant for her. She even told us that the first thing she did when she woke up was read her scriptures, then had her coffee :p apparently she always has her coffee first, but she saw a huge difference having it after...haha I love it! :) She's hilarious!!  she's growing so much though, its amazing!

Ok! Well that's all for today!  Have a blessed week! God bless! :)

Transfers....last transfer :(

Sooo....this is my last transfer!!!! OH MY GOSH!!!!!! This is so weird!!! And I'm being transferred!!!!
950 W Thompson #120
Decatur, TX 76234
But I will be staying in Decatur with Sister Bangs :p we're just moving to an apartment closer in town for more miles! It's great!! :) We'll be moving on Friday...just found this out. AND we're getting a new truck since ours has reached its limit! So this will be a crazy week! The Lord will help me out this transfer!!!

Funny moment last week. Actually HILARIOUS! Actually really messed up too! One of the elders, my District Leader, who is coming home in my group, just found out that he has a baby brother, 17 months old...and his family just didn't tell him. Now how messed up is that?!!!!!!? Haha he was soooo mad! It was pretty hilarious though! Y'all better not be hiding any of that from me!! Oh the life of a missionary :p

Also, we went to pday activity this week in Denton....I just love missionaries!!! It's so nice to be around them!! #decaturislonelybeyondimaginationonpdays. And we played soccor!!!! Don't worry, it was an epic fail at first...but I got better! And its fine, the next 3 days I COULD NOT WALK!!!! I was sooooo sore! I literally worked out every muscle in my body....I looked like a crippled old woman!

So we had a great week and had many miracles happen, not exactly to us, but we have seen the miracles happen through us. It's crazy to see how much God really does work through us to bring about His great and eternal purposes. We had a couple of experiences with this. I want to start with this LA Martiz who is in her early 20s with 2 kids and a husband who is not a member of the church. She attends church a couple times a month but never brings her kids. We went over to her house this week to visit and planned to share about the gospel of Jesus Christ blessing families on earth and throughout eternity. As we were talking about this we focused on her being that example to the family and she broke down crying. After a few minutes she calmed down and told us that a few months ago she prayed to God for Him to show her a sign whether or not the church was true. A few days later the missionaries showed up on her doorstep. A couple weeks ago she was struggling to know what to do concerning the fact that her husband isn't a member and she wants to be sealed to him and her daughters but didn't know what to do. Then we showed up. What a testimony builder of God hearing and answering prayers! It was amazing! We helped her set goals with her being a better example to her family and she committed to start having family prayer and attending church every week with her kids. She didn't bring her kids to church yesterday, but we are hoping she will next week. It was a definite neat experience for me to see her receive that full knowledge that God wants her to step up. I love missionary work!! :)

Next we had Charlie. On Monday he called us drunk and told us he didn't want us to come back. So we waited a few days without contact then went back and he was on his first 24 sobriety. He was shaking already, but was so ready to be done with it! Well the next day we went and did service with him at a museum, then went back to his house for a lesson and saw some people moving in so we went and helped, then had a great lesson with him on 2 Nephi 9 and being prepared for when we return to God's presence. The next day we went by and he told us all about his day the day before that his daughter who was mad at him for going to the Mormon church called him and apologized (it broke his heart before because he and his daughter were so close) and he had a wonderful talk with her. He then started telling everyone that day that he was Mormon and proud of it! He could see the difference it made when he was applying the gospel, giving service, being selfless, keeping the Word of Wisdom, and studying the scriptures. It all makes sense!! It all works! What a neat experience! He's getting closer!

We met with Miguel this week as well and he is still struggling on what to do with his girlfriends living situation. It's hard to see either a family break physically or a family break spiritually. Either he has to leave his kids as well or have them always witness their parents fighting. It's so sad! And it's hindering his spiritual growth. We are meeting with him this week though and hopefully we can make some goals with him. Include him in y'all prayers as well if you will! :) thanks!

So you can also tell that your in Decatur when your at a potentials house and they boil water with a candlestick for ramen....haha! Ohh my goodness! It makes me really appreciate the things I do have!

We also had a less active family buy us a croc pot when they found out we didn't have one...I feel like im in Arlington again now!!! :D Croc pots=the best!!!

I love my mission, I love the trials (the outcome) and I'm grateful for my Savior, Jesus Christ! He is my all :) Go share the gospel this week! :)

Love y'all!
