Oh this week was great!!
First. JASMINE HOWELL you need to email me pronto!! I want to know how Spain and school is going :)))
Man. Loads of things to talk about this week. I just want to let y'all know that the Lord does answer prayers!!!! :)
So lets start with the beginning...Soo it snowed again this week. WHAT? Aggain?? Yep. And of course we couldnt drive cuz texas drivers are crazy..especially on the roads. I cant tell you how many accidents we see EACH DAY. And i dont even wana be on the roads when its snowy or icy. But that all means = no car. -_- awesome... but it was all good. We walked 6 miles again in the frrreezing weather but this time our appointment was actually there. Yay! It still took forever though to walk. For some reason I apparently walk really fast now. Idk, i guess i've just gotten use to it now. Sister Fielding has to jog to keep up. haha its soo funny! Speaking of which. One morning we went running...well running to our gym, and it was 20 degrees out. Perrrrfect weather ;) not. I HATE THE COLD!!! But definitely not looking forward to the heat and humidity coming soon. Already dreading it...
So on Tuesday we got an answer to a prayer. This guy called us and said he found the card we 'left on his door step' and wanted to know more. WHAT? Never happens. So we end up realizing that we left it on a less actives door with a note 'call us if you even need anything' and at first when we left it there Sister F that I was crazy cuz the LA rudely rejected us :) But i felt like it anyways. So this little bitty temple card somehow got to the other side of the building on the lower floor. No way. What? We were pretty sketched out haha. So we ended up meeting with him but turns out its this 40 yr old guy so not ours but we 'taught' him anyways...i dont know if you could consider it teaching....this guy was drunk! Man I smelt that non-soberness breath when we first came in. Guess what guys, hes an author and a song writer for Christian music. He even sangg.....to us. And I dont know if you've ever heard a drunk man sing and play the piano but dang its a sight to see. Haha I tried so hard not to laugh. This guy needs some help. He doesnt feel like God loves him anymore... But we told him it all starts with praying..
...this guy took 10 minutes praying but in silence. We were expecting him to pray outloud but no... were not sure if he fell asleep. Gwen, who was our exchange, Sis F and I were just chillin' there and trying so hard not to laugh. Sister F let out a snort and that was the end of it. Sooooo funny!!! But it was good. We did refer him to other missionaries though. He'll get baptized. :)
Then! We got an MTC referral and its this girl Danielle. Her boyfriend is less active but she actually told him to go get his life back in order and now she wants to meet with the missionaries. She seems super nice but we still havent met her. Meeting with her this week :) SOOO EXCITED!!!
Answer to a prayer on Friday. We went to find some less actives and found that the girl had moved out but new people in there. :) Jackpot! We taught this guy Bakari, and his 'sister' Taylor and they are both interested! They're agnostic at the moment but that'll change :) God's got this! They also seemed to have a collection of liquor...everywhere...and weed. Gotta love those two smells combined. I smelt like a drunk skunk. Fantastic.
THEN!!! We FINALLY met with one of the less actives, Jonathan's, girlfriend Bre. Did that make sense? Grammer went out the window for me ever since i've been on my mission :p haha but they cooked dinner for us and I had roast beef with cooked carrots and onions. Mmmm...all my very favorite. not. But it actually wasnt bad at all, Jonathan's a good cook! He made it good. But we taught Bre the restoration and it went sooooo well!!! She's solid!!! But one thing that makes me soooooo mad. WE DIDNT INVITE HER TO BE BAPTIZED!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!! !!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!! I wanted to shoot myself!! Doing that the next time! But it was way awesome cuz she was so receptive and she told us that church makes her feel at home. She's been going with Jonathan for over a month now and she loves it. Plus we are really hoping this helps Jonathan get back on track as well. She told us she wanted to continue the lessons and we hadnt even asked her. She's a keeper!
I LOVE the Lord!! He is aware of all our struggles and needs. And He does help us. Proven. A million times!
And last but not least...I'm sure we made so many people's facebooks or twitters or whatever you do these days. We saw this guys car broke down at a light so we parked our car and offered to help. It's a sight to see two girls in skirts pushing a car across the intersection....yep thats what happened. I cant even imagine what was going through people's minds. haha!! Check that off my bucket list. We were laughing so hard! After I felt like I was going to die.. I'm so out of shape!
Oh dang this is long...sorry guys! :)
Have a good week! And have fun at the temple dedication. Im so jealous!!!!!!
