Wud up y'all!
So so so! My goodness this week was a great one! First off, last night was the greatest!!! We had our mission President's fireside and it was sooo good! So we had been trying to find a ride to this thing for a whole week and even got a ride for Charlie but no girl to go so we could. Finally we got one, then Charlie cancelled and THEN our ride cancelled. SERIOUSLY?!! NO! Thankfully the Lord answers prayers cuz we got a LA to go and her mom...who are the funniest people in the world! The mom has 2 kids who are my age and in high school and I swear she looks late 20s. Her kids are part black and her daughter went with us, she's wanting to start coming back to church (she's my age) and the funniest quote of the week goes to them:
Mom: "I have a pimple coming up on my chin!"
K: "I have so many blackheads on my chin"
M: "you have a black head on your shoulders"
Hahahaha!!! I love black people! :)
I got to see everyone there!! Practically! I saw Brandy and Waylon (Arlington) --ps it was a year ago I left denton and went to Arlington...so weird! And Sister Taylor!!!! I miss her so much!!! And Sister Hamblin and Sister Fielding who are comps right now...im jealous!! But the saddest thing of all is that my dear sweet child, Sister Hamblin is going home this week because she is sick and doesn't know whats wrong with her. I almost cried! She's amazing! It breaks my heart! But we had a great reunion with everyone and I was glad God made it possible for me to go!
We also went on exchanges with the STL's in Denton and it was really nice to be able to be in a different area, receive knowledge and some advice on what to do differently with the area and companion. It helped me soooooooooooooooooooooo much!!!! Sister Sylar was my comp for the day and I know she was there and called by God to help me! I had such a great time! We did some service and we made Denton look beautiful ;) ...that's actually what its called :p But it was great! I actually saw other missionaries than me and my comp....I miss that!!! Decatur gets pretty lonely...
So we weren't able to meet with Miguel this week, we feel like he's feeling a bit pressured but we are meeting with him tonight and plan on having an honest conversation on what he's feeling. We met with Chuck and he's doing a lot better! His sister had a great conversation with him after we left two weeks ago and was telling him how much change she's seen in him and how much his faith is actually growing - he just cant see it. But when we met with him this week he was more confident in everything and said that when he was praying this past week he felt peace and that God is starting to answer his prayers. He's not totally ready for baptism, but he's definitely getting there :) Charlie is still not away from his WOW problems but is trying...slowly! I feel like we had more luck with this when Sister Taylor was here. But I guess this is just a test of his true faith. YOU WILL GET THERE! (pitch perfect)
We've been working a lot with members more than before and we've been pretty good with following up with them on the commitments we leave with them. It's awesome! Last Wednesday we had one of the youth in the ward text us and said that he invited three of his friends to mutual and wanted us to come and meet them! Well that night we had the appointment with Chuck but ended earlier so we could go meet them...well lets just say that Satan didn't want that because we had a train stuck on the tracks...not moving at all. Just chillin' there! WHAT THE FLIP MAN!!! It was so upsetting!!! So we weren't able to get there on time but hopefully they will be coming this week so we can meet them! :) I love seeing members get excited about sharing the gospel. Ever since we've been adding member work in our focus, the members often call us and just tell us about the missionary moments they have. How rewarding!! They just make my day! :) I really love this work!
Go share the gospel!!! :)
