Mission scripture

"Yea, I know that I am nothing; as to my strength I am weak; therefore I will not boast of myself, but I will boast of my God, for in his strength I can do all things; yea, behold, many mighty miracles we have wrought in this land, for which we will praise his name forever." Alma 26:12

FAM BAM

Hey Ya'll

....Just kidding! I hate that word...and havent said it once yet! Its awesome ;P

Soooooooooooooo I am literally right next to the University of North Texas! That's my backyard...yep, yep, yep! I am having so much fun though. I am serving in the singles ward...is this even legal?? Its a good thing that I havent seen any attractive men otherwise this would be VERY hard for Shayla...But then again, I am Sister Tilton ;)
Tornado?? THERE WAS A TORNADO?? Just kidding, it was windy but there was no sign of any tornado close to us. Sister Taylor, my companion, really wanted a tornado...what?? I told her she was crazy, and she is. But for the weather we are having right now, I wish there was a tornado!! It is soo stinkin' hot!! AND HUMID!! What the freak man?! I wanted to get away from Arizona and the heat...but now I have an addition to that...humidity - my new best friend (not really) We have been nothing but sweat balls and frizzy hair! Pretty much! Cute, I know ;) More so for Sister Taylor cuz she has nice and curly hair! We tract and street contact all the time, unless we have an appointment, and we walk everywhere - no bikes! She doesnt have one so we walk. Which I'm glad cuz I'm staying fit - I get chased by dogs and occasionally people...just kidding, neither;) - and I dont have to wear a helmet or be on a bike with a skirt. Back to the companion, she's awesome!! She's only been out for 3 and a half months and already training due to the overload of all the Sister missionaries - we're pretty cool I guess ;) She's 21 and fun! She knows how to talk to people and get good conversations started. She has a lot of knowledge and I hope I can get to her level fast! Everyone around us are generally nice. Lots of people to talk to and we are only able to teach young single adults and thats good cuz I they're everywhere!!! We dont go on campus though cuz we are not suppose to on school grounds, it makes sense! But we can teach there when we have an appontment, just no tracting! We have about 4 investigators that we are teaching right now- all from before I came- and a recent convert that doesnt want to progresss...frustrating! And a less active which we did recently teach him and he went to church yesterday. Yay!! :D I'm loving it!! We taught a new guy we met on the street had he was really interested and we taught him but he moves in a week since its summer break >:/ oh it made me so mad!! Everyones leaving so it's hard to find people. We did find this other girl that was interested in the Book of Mormon cuz her ancestors are the American Indians so she's amused by that so we're excited to meet with her. One of my favorite parts of the day is scripture study! Oh my gosh I love just studying the scripture, my BOM is literally colorful..no white! Challenge to all you guys: STUDY THEM!! They will help and bless your life like no other, not even kidding! You understand it way better and now I can tell you everything that happens in 1 Nephi. AWESOMENESS!!! :D Today I am just so excited to go grocery shopping!!! For the last week we have been eating bread for breakfast, and eating out for the rest, unless we had someone take us to eat which has been nice. Yes, I know mom, I'm trying!! But I couldnt go shopping for food so we've been trying to survive. I have eaten much steak...but did have some...smothered in BBQ sauce so I couldnt see ANY BLOOD!!! Success;) Everythings fine here!! I'm loving the people already. :) OH I forgot to say, Dad, or Grandma Tilton- I met an elder at the MTC, Elder Judd and Grandma is his Aunt or something?! But we were related one way or another..so thats a picuture I will send. :) Love you all and Hope everythings swell! Praying for Kizzy and missing her mucho :( Oh I met this guy who offered to teach me spanish...yess!!! Okay!! Chow:)

PS Send me snacks!! And if you want, a GPS thing so we can know places to go..but that's only if you feel like buying it and its not too expensive...and also in my seater chest I have a glass box thingy its white and pink squares or something but my Ipod is in there. I would love to have you take all the music off and put on church music!!!!! Please?? and a little speaker..that'd be awesome!! BUT most of all send me PICTURES!!! not on email but already developed! I'd love that! And I'll send pictrues later..going shopping!! Ekkk! okay love you bye! And its nice to finally hear from everyone on my last day at the MTC;)

Dear Family,
Sister Sagers and I want you to know that your missionary has arrived safely here in Texas.  We look forward to serving together in accomplishing the Lord's work.  we hope you enjoy the attached picture of your missionary, as well as knowing that the missionaries are in good hands here as they are in the Lord's service.

They arrived on Tuesday and we took them to the Mission Home where we had a good Texas Barbeque meal and then a Testimony Meeting. We then went to a local Ward Building for some training and a personal interview with President Sagers. We then went out and did some first contacting. The Elders spent the night at the Assistant the President apartment and the Sisters stayed at the Mission Home. Wednesday morning we had some more training followed by meeting their first Mission Field companion.
Your Missionary’s first assignment will be in Denton YSA.  She will be serving with Sister Taylor.
Their apartment address is:
Sister Shayla M Tilton
1119 W Hickory St. #6
Denton, TX   76201
You may of heard a tornado touched down in our mission earlier in the week and caused considerable damage in the Granbury area.  Within minutes, all missionaries were accounted for and all are fine. None  of their apartments sustained any damage.
Your missionary will email on Monday (which is their preparation day).  (I mom will forward it on when I receive it)
Sincerely,
President and Sister Sagers
