Shayla Tilton's Mission Blog: First week of the Aug transfer!

So hello yall!

I have been loving this week! Welll...first off! I didn't!!! CUZ SISTER TAYLOR#2 is no longer here!!!!! Makes me sad :( She was awesome, as usual...all the awesome ones I only have for a transfer...except those I did have for more than a transfer were so awesome too....I just love all my companions :p haha speaking of which, SISTER TAYLOR#1, SISTER EWING, and SISTER EDWARDS are all gone now!!!!! D': It makes me so sad! I feel like empty now...not that I saw them anyways, but just knowing they're all gone! So sad!! But i got to see them which was the best thing EVER!!! I wanted to cry...but i didn't!

Got my new comp, Sister Bangs. She is hard working and loves to talk to people, its great. She's been out for almost 11 months. It's kinda different than what I've had before but its been great! She definitely loves to talk...but a little bit quieter when were around people. She does have depression but taking vitamins for that...can you guess, Doterra :p so hopefully that keeps it under control for me...or just my weird self will keep her from that >;) jk! Still getting to know the area, don't worry, this sista's got this ;) not. I do miss Sister Taylor, its always a bummer only having a companion for one transfer and considering that I don't even know the area or the people has made it harder for me...but it's been good. God is helping me! :)

It has been a great week for us in the referral line. We have had two very awesome member referrals this week, one was from the Lambs, and we were able to have dinner with them and him, Miguel, and the lesson went great! When he was younger he would go to church all the time with the missionaries, he loved Priesthood meeting, and he loves the fact that our church is a life style, not just a Sunday thing. That is actually one thing he doesn't like about his church and he expressed that this is what he wants, and what he wants his family to be apart of. He was going to go to church on Sunday but had to take his kids school shopping.

But the other one was from Brother Franks. He called us and told us this amazing story, long story short - he went to the temple to get some things and invited his friend to come in the lobby and wait for him and told him that when we went in that he would feel different, he would feel the Spirit. So he went in, and when they came back in the car Miles, his friend, was so amazed at the feeling that was in there that he didn't want it to leave. Well he even called two days later and told Bro Franks that he couldn't stop thinking about it and wanted to know when church started and that him and his wife wanted to go. So awesome! So they came, couldn't stay the whole time, but they loved it! God has definitely prepared them. I'm excited! The Lord does prepare, and this was an awesome thing for the members to experience. It can happen to everyone. Testimony builder to me to know that there are many who are ready, we just have to be ready, as members, to receive them and invite! I love it! We will hopefully be meeting with them all this week.

Charlie is doing better, he went 5 days sober and then slipped BUT only had one! Now he's starting over, and this time his withdrawals weren't bad at all. The Atonement is real, and it's working. :)

So i did forget to tell yall one thing about when i was with Sister Taylor, and I just had to tell it! So one night we were planning and Sister T was just looking at my wall of pics and at one when i was first out with Sis Taylor#1 and she was like "you were really pretty in that picture" then i was like "(jokingly) what are you saying?! Did that change or something?" "(serious face) Well...you kinda look more like Sméagol now..." WHAT?????? Worst compliment EVER!!!!!!!!!! Hahaha! And why do i miss her?! Not sure :p

We had a Decatur parade and were in it!!! It was awesome!! We had a big sign of our church name, soops cool! Let EVERYONE know that we were it! :)
