Mission scripture

"Yea, I know that I am nothing; as to my strength I am weak; therefore I will not boast of myself, but I will boast of my God, for in his strength I can do all things; yea, behold, many mighty miracles we have wrought in this land, for which we will praise his name forever." Alma 26:12

Christmas is here! :)

So first off....my little nephew is now 12...how old do i feel??! Caleb needs to stop growing!!!

So hi guys! :)

Christmas is here...it definitely doesnt feel like it thats fo sho! But its so fun being out on Christmas. You'd think we'd have a pretty slow christmas but everyone wants to meet with us on that day... dude if i was at home i'd tell the missionaries to leave me alone on Christmas. Haha jk. I wouldnt now...but its awesome! We have a full busy schedule. We have a district meeting that day and im afraid i wont have any time to call home this Christmas. Sorry.. haha jk I will be calling 1pm your time, 2pm my time. SO YOU BEST BE ALL THERE!!!! and I think i'll call moms phone...or dads..? probably moms so make sure to pick up! This is weird man...

first thing, im feeling much better this week! President Ames called me, i got scared at first - mission presidents dont call just for fun - but he was checking up on me since someone called him ;) mom... haha but its been good. Im just about normal!

So a few funny things happened this week. First off, ya never know whats going to happen in the YSA wards... Those awkward moments when your a sister missionary but are mistaken as someone's fiance...yup! That happened. It was SOOO funny!!! Actually really awkward. This guy Stephen came up and put his arm around me and started rubbing my shoulder...when I looked at him he realized realllllll quick. He tried covering up asking how I was doing but...nope, didnt work. haha perks of being in YSA! Sister Edwards and I couldnt stop laughing!

This week went by sooooooooooooooooooooo slow!!! No one's here anymore!! Everyone's gone. What the heck? But suprisingly, we were able to get ahold of a lot of our less actives. So this is exciting news! One of the less actives we've been working with, Anthony, is now fully active and its great!! It's so nice knowing that he's active now! Its so amazing though cuz now we are witnessing true conversion with him. All he does now is give us his friends and people that he wants to help get back active and in the church. What a sight! It's so awesome!

Jarrett, one of the less actives, is trying so hard to quit his smoking. He is doing great! He stopped but then gave in and bought another pack of cigarrettes. When we visited him he gave us the rest of his pack. Yay! Except then we had to dispose of it...we felt so weird, well Sister Edwards cuz she was carrying a pack around everywhere haha. Some advise to take: when disposing of cigarrettes and putting them in a dumpster, do not try to break them apart when the wind blows...it goes in your face. Talk about grossness! I felt the need real quick to repent haha but seriously ;) its was gross! He's doing awesome!

We did have a fun Christmas Devotional with President Ames and watched a movie. woo hoo! But not the grinch :( I miss that movie! LARISSA! That's what were watching when we get home! And we also were able to see a lot of missionaries. I love missionaries :) they're the best! We got to open our letters too that they gave us. Thanks for them :)

We have a new investigator! His names Jordan and he's awesome! Well...the only thing is...he used to be in a gang and is now on parole but really wanting to be baptized. He came to church on his own which was pretty cool and then was referred to us. He came to the YSA ward sunday and....he even wanted to go do baptisms for the dead. Haha slow down there buddy....it was hard telling him he wasnt allowed :p But we're working on him but its going to take a long process since we have to get the first presidency's permission. But he'll get there! :)

Well....I'll talk to you in 2 days! Merry Christmas for those I wont talk to...
Have fun!
