So this week has been pretty exciting! SOOOO we met our new Mission President, President Ames, and he's awesome! Definitely not like President Sagers but he's still good! This is his first and has two kids at home still -daughter 16 and son 12- they're a fun, happy, and spiritual family. He's going to be great! He loves me already...not suprising ;) haha just kidding! But they are truly great! His wife is the sweetest thing ever, as usual! He told us all the way we are selected and called to a certain area and it was pretty awesome to know how I was selected to be in Texas - someone here needs me for something!
Earlier this week for FHE we went to the lake and had some of our investigators come. It was super fun!! Sister Taylor and I played frizbee in the grass nice and far from the water :p haha it was pretty awkward to see people not fully clothed...that was awkward! But our investigators had a fun time so we were glad! :)
So for the 4th of July...to answer your question Mom, no we don't get days off for this kinda stuff. You crazyy?! This is prime-time! We are work, work, work! Holiday's are the best days to find people...although we didn't find anyone really :p anyways, so there was a Denton Parade and all of us missionaries in Denton were in it. It was so fun/weird! The Spanish ward made a float for the parade and all of the missionaries were in front of it with an LDS sign and bike missionaries in the back..pretty legit! ;) We were in front of these rednecks...and got a whole great big inhalation of exhaust by some rednecks old rustic jeep...if that makes sense... But we could tell when we walked by mormons cuz they'd start yelling and clapping..we were popular ;) jk and even the little kids would yell "MISSIONARIES!!" It was cute! It made me miss my nieces and nephews :( But we did convert some cheerleaders and such ;p After proselyting hours we rushed home, planned, and then climbed to the roof of our apartment (totally legal...) and watched fireworks! It was SO FUN!! We could see everything!!! So high even birds couldnt poop on my head ;) haha jk but seriously.
This week we got three of our investigators to church! We were so happy!! And they enjoyed it as well. Robert, Mason, and Kristen. Fun thing, so we finally were able to teach Andrew and Mason this week - they weren't usually interested in the lessons but have been coming to activities and we really clicked with them these past weeks:) so we went over to their house this week and made pancake poopies (seminary thing) and it was soooo hilarious! So we brought the stuff to make it and I was the cook since no one knows how to cook here -.- and Andrew offers some tea to us...no thanks Andrew! And then!!! I was making the pancakes and he was goes and gets a bottle of rum and says "this'll make it taste great!!" and pours it on the pancakes...haha ohh deario! Perks of being a missionary - we taught them the Word of Wisdom! And they committed to try it out for a couple weeks to see how it would help them. Yay!! We're so happy!!
We also got a pet cat....for a day! Against the rules completely but our investigator's sister was moving and needed a place for it for 2 weeks and so my comp said we could take it till we found someone to take it. We put it in our garage cuz he was smelly. Straya was his name. And I came to find out that I dont like cats that much anymore...dogs are the way to go! But we got someone to take him. YAY!!! I was sooooooooooooooo HapppY!! Nothing better in life feels better than obedience. For sure! :)
I love my mission though, I love it here!! I dont ever want to leave!!! There are 4 girls in our ward that are going on missions, one is leaving tomorrow to Alaska! So awesome!! I told her to find the Lindblom's there :p But it's so exciting to see them get excited...it's like me looking at myself except I don't talk texan :p haha Anywayys! Love you all lots!!
Give Kizzy kisses for me!! :)
