Ok gosh I cant believe its almost JULY!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!! !!!!!!!!!!!!!!!! What the heck man, time is flying way too fast!
So. It's pretty much official. I have no clue what we have done this week. I have short term memory...its bad guys! We had a great week.....but I don't know what we did :p
For starters, Idk if I told yall that we have this new elder, just came on his mission, only been out for 6 weeks, and he is from Gilbert! Elder Sammons is his namo. Well! He went to Higley....we have problems ;) jk I have to be Christlike to him. ;p So we started talking about people we know, and he knows Curtis Lindblom! And a lot of other people I know :) So cool right?! So here I was asking him if he knew certain people cuz he knew people from WFHS as well and so here I am, being sneaky, ask him
"Did you ever meet or hear of a girl named Shayla?"
"Hmm....I don't know. That sounds like a black name, is she black?"
...... ;) yus! Made my day!!!!!!!! Hahah! then sister Hamblin was like
"Did you tell him your name??"
Then he found out. Haha but it was a great compliment, I'm satisfied now ;)
This week totally poured!! It was awesome!!! We literally ran to someone's house and were drenched. I love the rain! :)
so we saw the Frandsens this week...they are really awesome! We had them read 3 Nephi 11 and they loved it!! They didn't read all of it but they still had a spark from the 2 chapters they did read, 11 and 12. Linda participated so much more. I feel like we're finally getting to the comfortable stage with the missionaries. I love it! They aren't close to coming back to church, but they're getting there! :) Never give up!!!!!!! :)
So Eiji's baptism was this week and it was so awesome!!!!!!!!!!!!! It was such a great turnout! Spirit was so strong, and everything went perfect! So for starters. Flippin hot!! Yay for A/C! And then we go to fill the font. 5 spiders in it. 5!!!!!!!!!! But don't you worry, some guy came in and killed them. WITH HIS BARE FEET!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!! !! It's fine. I almost threw up. I was literally gagging. He was like 'what? it's just spiders!' EXACTLY!!!!!!!! It was mega gross! Anywho! The elders that originally taught him came for his baptism (they're home now) and one of his friends from HS baptized him. It was great! Of course they're all bb players so little short sister Tilton just chillin over there....pic shows this. Our mission President even came. And it was sooooo great!!! :) Eiji's mom and sister came too which was awesome to see him make this covenant. These things that make the biggest difference, I don't understand how people could deny this. It really makes me sad. I'm thankful for it :) What makes it more rewarding is that Kristen, his wife, was less active in Denton when i was there...not the slightest interest in coming back...but now! And seeing her whole countenance change is so rewarding. Knowing that everyone will have the chance to change, but we cant give up on them! It's amazing what God can do.
K so who knew that just because i'm getting closer to going home, i'd be having people try to set me up. Don't worry, that totally happened. Not only did it happen, it was done by our 1st counselor in the bishopric. WHILE IM STILL A MISSIONARY!!!! And at the baptism. No Flippin' way sister Tilton...yeah way! So lets just start at the beginning. So this guy Tyler, who's parents are in our ward, he's an RM, comes over and I begin to ask him about this girl that he was trying to share the gospel with, doing what missionaries do!!!!!!!! and then dear sweet brother Gunderson comes up and says "y'all are a little close don't you think? Sister Tilton, you don't have much longer on your mission do ya? Tyler, you have to get married sometime..."
. . . HOW AWKWARD!!!!!!!!!!!!!! I think I might've about died of awkwardness. I was like "BROTHER GUNDERSON!!!!!!! I am talking to him about his missionary work!!!!!!"
Yeah...highlight of my life on awkwardness. Needless to say, it's a good thing i'm on my mission! I'd rather stay on it.
So after that all fun, awkward, embarrassing thing happened, we went back to doing great work! :) Jackie and the Medfords are so great! All of them are excited for their baptism this week. It just really is the best. I love seeing people do this. It's worth every bit of change to receive this.
Lets not take it for grantit. If we just read our scriptures, "feast upon them" (2 nep 31:20) and pray and strive to be happy, the world would be a great place! :) It'd be celestial! :) Go to the temple, go do something for someone. It's the best! :)
Have a great, amazing, fantastic, awesome week! Smile! :)
