Hey everyone! Happy St. Patrick's Day!
Happy Birthday KODY!!!!!! My gosh my brother is getting old!!!!!!!!! Hope you had a good one :)
and Happy Birthday to Aaron this week!! :) SO sad I wont be at your baptism :(( But thanks for the invite Ju ;)
Ok. So this week. It was better! I finally got all unpacked haha...I feel like I have so much stuff! Still getting used to living at a members home..but I like it! New! Sister Tuck and I have gotten better this week with more laughs! Still not use to the whole quietness yet....Sister Fielding!!! I miss the loud and funness!
I think I have come to the conclusion that Sister Missionaries that have not served in YSA are very preserved.... and I think Sister Tuck may be getting sick of hearing how much of a difference this is for me. But its true! We had dinner with a member and her daughters are in the Colleyville YSA ward and they were with us for dinner and we had so many laughs and so loud...and Sis T is laughing a little. GET HAPPY!! Haha Its so weird!!
We did have some fun times this week though:
We were getting our car washed and was in line...and sis T had a craving for slurpies...so we put the car in park....and ran in the gas station. Don't worry, Im sure all the people in line were thinking we were cray cray! We got back just in time for our turn. Haha man! It felt like an adrenalin rush...don't worry mom, they were sugar free! haha
We asked our District leader a question and he responded in Shakespeare language so we were trying to be clever and reply the same way....we were telling him that we would see them on Tuesday for our meeting at the tongan building but said tongan sinues... "Is that right?!" "I think...." Pushed send. Later we were studying and sis T was like "wait...isn't sinues something to do with loins?" then it hit us....that's something to do with inicioustories! or however you spell it! It was soo embarrassing!! I hope this makes sense...
Then last but not least, walking down the road, having a good time, telling a story to Sis T. and I laughed and a bug went in my mouth! There Im choking and spitting, and realize a car is totally watching me...then I step in dog poop...really??! Just my luck!
Anyways! We had interviews with President Ames and that helped me out ALOT!!! I just love him! Every word that is spoken out of his mouth is like God is just talking with me. Its amazing. I just don't see how people cant know this is Gods church. Its an undeniable feeling! I just love it! Oh and random, but they have a Tongan ward here! So weird! And the elders that cover it...one looks like a model btw's...they cover the whole mission!!!! No restrictions on area whatsoever! Sounds like the life!!! And its a bike area. Insane!
So the few we are teaching, Kayla and Karina, and Olivia and Isabel, are having a hard time committing to things. I have really come to the conclusion that I have no clue how to teach kids. I think God is preparing me for teaching my future children...if I was married and having kids...I'd be screwed! So! I need EVERYONES help here! Can you please think of ways to teach the gospel in simple forms that they can be involved...like activities, analogies, or something to help them learn and be excited! Cuz we be struggling big time :p But they are all awesome!!!
I love kids! Perks of being in a family ward...the kids! Its sad that I cant hold them...but there are a few that I just adore!!! Gemma...shes one! And it makes me miss all my little ones! :) Theres another girl that reminds me just like Jaida..shes ten, thick hair, and she lovesssssss us! She wears her 'future missionary' tag every week! And I asked her what she wanted to be when she grew up. Her response "Im gona be a missionary!" Adorbs!
Things are looking up. One thing I do miss though is Bishop Pepper. Weird right?! Who knew...its sad not getting nightly calls from him to tell us were better than every other missionary, or telling us random things. Haha! The bishop here is great too, but less focused on missionary work and us. Time to get these members in shape!
One thing President Ames said this week to me was that member work is where its at. His words "Im going to tell everyone at stake conference and anyone, and you need to do this too, 'we don't want your referrals, we don't want to go talk to your friends. That's your job!'" WOW! What? We don't want referrals? Yes! This is your job guys! You are finding people. Not us. We are only here to help them enter the waters of baptism. Its YOUR job to find. AMEN! My commitment I leave to you all: Go Find your Friends! :)
Have a great week!
