Mission scripture

"Yea, I know that I am nothing; as to my strength I am weak; therefore I will not boast of myself, but I will boast of my God, for in his strength I can do all things; yea, behold, many mighty miracles we have wrought in this land, for which we will praise his name forever." Alma 26:12

heyyy guysss :)

Hey everyone!

So this week has been pretty exciting, fun, and terrible. Jk, not a bit of terrible in it. Our district is just the funnest! We all get along soo well! We had a service activity at this mental institution and we pulled lots of weeds...and everyone just thought it was hilarious that I didn't like spiders so they decided to throw them at me -_- no. thats rude! I also got super awesome tan lines from my gloves. It's beautiful! I've got all sorts of fun tan lines now. It's sad to think that in less than 3 weeks I will be getting a new comp  :( Saddd....But we're enjoying it! Sister Taylor has this thing where she loves to look at me during prayers..hahaha just kidding! She's been testing on if you can actually feel eyes on you - so far it has worked. It's hilarious. Speaking of Peru, I wasnt but anyways, I met a guy that was born in Lima Peru, Wilson Polida - know any Doris/Betty? He moved to America when he was young but both his parents are from there. I know someone here finally from Peru!  :) We also met this guy that just moved back to Denton, we know his parents, but his name is Goldy.....he's a guy...and his real name that is on his birth certificate that a doctor and parents signed on, is GOLDY!!! ...who would name their child that?! Depressing... Concerning food, someone almost made us eat Oysters..YUCK!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!! I almost threw upp..except I didnt eat in..
So this week we taught Robert the commandments and were scared to see his problems with them cuz he's been good for everything else so we thought there'd be something he wouldn't like about it. But, he told us he hates coffee, tea, alcohol, and etc. so hey! He's ready to go! Wow. The Lord has already prepared him :) And then we ask him about his reading of the Book of Mormon and if he has gotten any final answer. His reply "oh yeah, I already got it. It's true." WHaaaaaat???? Okay thenn...He's got this! We also met his mom and sister and they said they're so excited to come to the baptism. Hopefully this will grow on them and they'll convert to the Lord as well :) he has an identical twin that we want to teach too...identical twins...insane! It was funny, he was leaving to come meet with us and he ran into some missionaries and they asked if they could share a message with him, then he showed them his BOM. Smack in the face, we got him first! Haha! We're so excited for him.
Lio, who is getting baptized on the 26th, is already a freakin' missionary!!! He wanted to come with us in an appointment with Mason. He bore his testimony and shared it on keeping the word of wisdom and how much it has helped him. Mason is struggling with giving up his precious alcohol but with Lio's testimony, it helped him a lot! Yay! Oh its so exciting!! :) Missionary work rubbin off them investigators. waBAM!
So someone looked up my name on this urban dictionary and this is what it states:
Shayla's are unbeliveably gorgeous.(shucks;)) They often denys this, but everyone sees their beauty shine as bright as the stars in the night sky. She makes a great bestfriend, shes loyal, goofy and crazy, and shes always herself no matter who she is around. Everyone loves her, and she has many, many friends. But, there is one person that she calls her bestfriend. Her bestfriend, is the luckiest person in the world. (Larissa....she's pretty lucky indeed)
hahahaha sorry...I just had to share it! ;p
Okay, now back to missionary talk, ....that's about it! Haha ok wellllllll I guess there will be more to report next week. Hope you enjoy my SD card! Love you guys lots! Have fun in Arizona/anywhere your at! :p
